This ad-supported and user-friendly website offers free, interactive math drill-and-practice activities to help students in grades K-6 improve their math skills

When you get to the site simply click on a grade level and begin practicing math strands or scroll down to see what each grade level includes:  

  • Grade K: Numbers, Split numbers, Counting on the bus, Addition, Subtraction, and more
  • Grade 1: Multiplication, Telling Time, Money, and more
  • Grade 2: Division and more
  • Grade 3: Fractions, Measures, Decimal numbers, and more
  • Grade 4: Percentages, Graphs, and more
  • Grade 5: Calculator and more
  • Grade 6: Miscellaneous and more

Once you select a grade level and category, choose the math strand you want to practice. A new page opens with the equation displayed. Type in the answer and if your answer is correct, you move on to the next equation. If it’s incorrect, the correct answer is provided and then you can try again with a new equation. 

Younger children and non-readers may need adult supervision and assistance. You’ll also find a link to Times Tables practice (from 1-12) under the Math dropdown on the top menu.

When you get to the site, scroll down to the grade you are interested in and click on the link for the math related activities. Or to make it easier, we have listed the links below: 

Read the explanation and/or instructions, then download the game/activity you are interested in. There are also skill building links and supplementary resources.

The activities at this site are for younger children, but older children may enjoy preparing them for their siblings.

At this archived site, you’ll find a free math activity book designed for parents to use with their children to help them learn important math concepts in a fun and engaging way.

Provided by the U.S. Department of Education, there are no bells and whistles here, just easy-to-do math activities, sorted by grade range from K-5, that are formatted for user-friendliness.

When you get to the site, you’ll land on the “Title Page” of the online book. Simply scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Next” buttons on each page to read the Foreword, Introduction, and to access the Activities that include: 

  • Math in the Home – Discover fun ways to use things you find around the house to learn measurement, fractions, counting, addition, subtraction, graphing, geometrical concepts, telling time and much more.
  • Math at the Grocery Store – Practice measurement, estimation, weighing, counting, and figuring price per unit versus price per pound while helping your children learn estimation skills – all while doing the grocery shopping!
  • Math on the Go – Do fun math activities as you travel from place to place using numbers found on license plates, buildings, buses, taxis, houses, and gas stations.
  • Math for the Fun of It – As the book explains, there are fascinating mathematical possibilities in the world around you. Look for math in nature – in the symmetry in leaves and various shapes and patterns of blooming flowers. You’ll find lots of other fun suggestions as well.

The book wraps up with some pointers for parents on helping children achieve in mathematics along with suggestions for helping children with school assignments, and resources for further learning.

The activities in this online book are perfect for homeschooling families and can be used in any way that makes sense to you and your children. You can also print it out and use it offline as well!
