This site offers a virtual tour that explains how milk gets from cow to carton.
When you get to the site you will see the first installment in “The Story of Milk” that is presented with photographs and simple text. Just click on the “Next” links to take the complete virtual tour that includes information about:
- What cows eat
- Cow milk
- Udders
- How cows are milked
- Raw milk
- Milk plant (including homogenization and pasteurization)
When you finish the tour, click on “Teacher’s Resources” on the horizontal menu at the top of the page to access articles, videos, and games about different aspects of the dairy industry.
Then, click on the “Fun Menu” to take a quiz that tests your knowledge about what you learn at the site.
