The National Park Service provides a stunning virtual tour of archaeological excavations along the Colorado River in Grand Canyon National Park.

See 360 degree panoramic views of the excavation sites that include the walls and floors of rooms, as well as artifacts such as tools and pottery, of people who lived there long ago.

When you get to the site, you’ll see an introduction and an explanation of how to take the virtual tour (under “Navigation”). Or use the menu on the right side of the page to explore by site. You’ll find a dozen excavation sites through watching a panoramic view on a screen and reading the interesting text below it including:

  • South Rim
  • Hilltop Ruin
  • Furnace Flats
  • Palisades
  • And more!

This panoramic tour is a great way to explore the natural wonders of Grand Canyon National Park without leaving home!
