Ogden’s Christmas Village

Age Range: All (All grades; children with parental supervision)

Take a fun journey through a Christmas Village with this website. Since its beginning in 1962, visitors to downtown Ogden, Utah, have enjoyed the display of a “dazzling winter wonderland set aglow with Christmas lights and a unique setting of cottages modeled after Santa’s village at the North Pole.”

Click the “Christmas Village” text link to begin your tour. The page that opens includes a map of the location of each cottage and images of the different displays. There are a few ways to navigate the tour:

  • Use the arrows on the sides of the images to move back and forth through the images
  • Click the map for the image to open
  • Use the thumbnails at the bottom of the screen to select an image

When the image comes up in the left hand pane, click on it for the image for a clearer view. Either click off the image or use the “X” in the lower corner to close the image. Each cottage includes its name, sponsor, and when it was built. A sampling of cottages you will see are:

  • Carnegie Free Library
  • North Pole Express
  • AmeriCan-Fix-It Ski Shop
  • The Church of Hope
  • Nani’s Cottage
  • Nutcracker Nook
  • Polarview Manor
  • Santa’s Ornament Factory
  • Roodolf’s 258
  • Frosty’s Firehouse

And about 54 much more whimsically themed displays.

If you live near Ogden, Utah, the village is traditionally open from the Saturday after Thanksgiving through January 1.

This simple and fun little tour is a nice addition to your holidays.
