December may almost be over, but there’s still time to celebrate National Fruitcake month with this virtual tour of this small mom and pop bakery in Tennessee.
When arriving at this link, be sure to read about the history of how Dave and Vicki Rhyne came to create their recipe for their pecan fruitcake. Then select the “Begin Tour” button at the bottom to start your tour. The tour covers the following:
  • Meet the Owners
  • Baking Facilities
  • Pecan Fruitcake Ingredients
  • Preparing To Bake
  • Baking and Cooling
  • Finishing
  • Shipping
  • Sales
Each page contains images and text about the bakery and the baking process. Click the image to see a larger version, but you will need to use your browser “back” arrow to return to the tour. Use the single arrows to move back and forth through the tour and the double arrows to go to the beginning or end of the tour. Use the double up arrow to return to the tour homepage.

But there is more! When you are done with your tour of the bakery, select the “Main Home” text link at the bottom of the page to be taken to the Sunshine Hollow main website. From here you can choose the “Gardens of Sunshine Hollows” text link in the “Greetings!” paragraph. When the page opens, look under the “Gardens Visitation Information” section for a virtual tour of the gardens and nursery through the seasons.

Even if you are not a fan of fruitcake, these virtual tours are a tasty treat for your studies.
