Hi! It’s Monday, December 9, 2013, and time for Math at ClickSchooling!

Recommended Website:
Dr. Mike’s Math Games for Kids

Age Range: 5-12 (Grades K-7, with parental supervision)

This ad-supported website provides all kinds of free printable math games, board games, puzzles, and toys! The games are designed to help kids learn more in an hour of play than they possibly could in a whole day of doing math drills.

You’ll be able to make many of the games with just your printer, and others may require a few items you probably have around the house – like a deck of playing cards or some dice.

When you get to the site you’ll see an introduction followed by some featured math games. Use the menu at the top of the page to find math games for every grade level from K-7, plus the latest and most popular games on the site.

Under the menu item “Grades,” you’ll find a link to the “Homeschool” section of the site where you’ll find games that are ideal for the home environment. You’ll also find printable worksheets for addition, subtraction, and times tables. This section even offers:

  • Printable Manipulatives – Print out paper tiles and blocks to help teach kids how to add and subtract numbers of more than one digit and for helping understand the concepts of carrying and borrowing.
  • Angle Geometry Quiz – Test your knowledge of interior angles of triangles and quadrilaterals, angles near parallel lines, lines meeting at a point and others.

You’ll also find Fraction Games, a Dot Joining Game (with many hidden mathematical formula to discover), Magic Square Puzzle Worksheets, a Times Table Board Game, Math Mazes, and much, much more!

And don’t miss the Advent Calendar – This colorful, printable calendar helps teach younger kids counting skills – and is perfect during the Christmas holidays.
