This site offers a virtual Time Machine to help students explore and learn about different historical eras throughout the world.
When you get to the site you’ll see an introduction and a menu with a selection of time periods such as:
- 25 Years Ago
- 150 Years Ago
- 400 Years Ago
- 1500 Years Ago
- 4,000 Years Ago, etc.
Click on any time period you want to visit. A new page opens with a map of the world. Click on any section of the map that includes:
- North America
- Central America
- South America
- Europe
- Africa
- Asia
- Australia and Oceania
A new page opens with a picture or photo and text that explains what was happening in that part of the world during that era.
The simplicity of this site is its brilliance. You won’t find lots of bells and whistles – just information about events of historical significance throughout the world.
It’s a great way to get an overview of what was taking place worldwide at any given time.
