Virtual Whale Watching

Age Range: All

Have you wondered what it would be like to go whale watching? At this site you can go on a virtual whale watching tour. Climb aboard the cyber inflatable seacraft and join a whale watching expedition in the Juan de Fuca Strait near Victoria, British Columbia.

When you get to the site there are several pages you must click through to begin the tour — just follow the directions to the starting place. Then, sit back, relax and enjoy the open-sea excursion as you are treated to spectacular photos of marine wildlife.

Each photo is accompanied by educational text with links to more information for further study. Some of the creatures you will learn about on this tour include:

  • Killer Whales
  • Sea Lions
  • Gray Whales
  • Dall’s Porpoise
  • Harbor Seal

If you like the virtual tour, the site encourages you to try the real thing by booking a real whale watching excursion!
