American Museum of Natural History Fossil Tours
Age Range: All (with parental supervision; non-readers will need assistance)
If you love dinosaurs then you will absolutely love this site. Bring your imagination to life with these fun free tours of the American Museum of Natural History’s extensive dinosaur fossil collection. As the site explains, “More than 100 specimens are featured in the two dinosaur halls, representing roughly 5 percent of the Museum’s collection of 2,000 dinosaur fossils.”
When you get to the site you can scroll down the page and read all about the real Fossil Hall and then take any one of the 3D tours they offer including:
- Hall of Saurischian Dinosaurs
- Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs
- Hall of Primitive Mammals
- Hall of Advanced Mammals
Each tour uses real photos and allows you to move and zoom as you wish. They have a couple other tours as well to check out like the butterfly tour and the bear dioramas. There are some great videos to check out in the science section of the website too so don’t forget to go exploring!
