BasketMath Interactive
Note on age range: The site recommendation is for Grades 4 – 10.
Want to practice math facts and basic skills? Could you use a break from the repetitious sameness of worksheets and flashcards? If so, then add “BasketMath” to your bag of tricks.
When you get to this site, simply select the math skill you wish to practice from the menu on the left side of your screen, type the answer to the problem that appears, and click “Enter.” After each correct answer, the CGI basketball player will start shooting hoops in one of several different ways. If the answer is incorrect, you will be informed of the correct answer, but there will be no animation. After a few problems, you are motivated to get the answer right so that you can see which shot the basketball player will make.
Skills that you can drill here include:
- Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Rounding numbers
- Perimeter
- Bar Graphs
- Word problems
- Map reading
- Exponents
- and much more
After each session, you can select “Results” to get a breakdown of all the drills you attempted and how well you did with each one, plus an overall score.
This FREE online demo version is fully functional. (It’s provided by Science Academy Software as incentive to get website visitors to purchase the software — however, no purchase is necessary to use the demo.)
Enjoy! :)
