Virtual Fire Station Field Trip

October is National Fire Safety Month in the United States. During the month of October many fire stations throughout the U.S. open their doors to the public for tours and fire safety education. You can contact your local fire department to see if you can make an appointment to visit — or get some good info about fire safety to share with your children. If you can’t physically visit a fire station, then take a virtual field trip to see a fire station in Witchita, Kansas at today’s website! When you get to the site you’ll see a menu on the left of your screen that includes:

  • Fire Safety — See pictures of fire fighters demonstrating how to get out of your house safely in the event of a fire.
  • Fire Engines — See a photo gallery of different kinds of fire engines.
  • Fire Equipment — View photos of different kinds of fire equipment.
  • Fire Uniform — Click through pictures to see all of the components of a fire fighter’s uniform.
  • Fire Station — See the inside of the Witchita Fire Station.
  • Parents & Teachers — Get links to fire safety games, activities, coloring pictures and more!
