October is National Popcorn Month and at Popcorn.org you will find all kinds of lessons and activities themed around popcorn to help you celebrate. We have featured this website in the past, however, ClickSchooling list member Penny pointed me to new content that you are sure to enjoy.
When you get to the site you will see some neat suggestions for popcorn-themed Language Arts including a popcorn booklist, popcorn coloring sheets, popcorn worksheets, and Reading/Language Arts (and Math) lessons for grades 1-6.
But that’s not all!
Click on “Teachers” on the menu bar and a new page opens with all kinds of ingenious suggestions for incorporating popcorn into the curriculum. Look for “Teaching Tools, Lesson Plans” on the menu. Click on it to find an incredible array of fun popcorn-themed lessons, activities, and experiments in Math, Science, Agricultural Sciences, Social Studies, Business, Art, Music, Literature, Health Sciences and Nutrition for grades K-12.
This site is sure to whet the kids’ appetites for popcorn — so make sure you have some in the house before you visit the site. :)
