Here are some websites where you can take virtual and real tours of pumpkin patches — and I’ve included some links to websites where you will find pumpkin-themed lesson plans too!

Bottomley Evergreens & Farms: Virtual Tour

This website offers a virtual tour of a pumpkin farm — where you can see how the land was prepared, seeded, maintained, and how the pumpkins grew and were harvested. When you get to the site, you will see a picture of the farm — and below it is a picture of pumpkins. Click on the pumpkin picture to open a new window and begin your virtual field trip. Then, click on the “next” button at the bottom of each photograph to see the pictures and read the simple descriptive text.

Your virtual field trip may inspire you to take a real tour of a pumpkin patch.

Local Harvest: Pumpkin Patch

To find a pumpkin farm near you, visit this website. When you get to the site you’ll see a picture of pumpkins with a search box under it. Simply enter your zip code, city and state and a new screen opens with pumpkin farms and patches near you. Click on any one listed and a new page opens with information on that farm, visiting hours, directions, any fees, etc.
