Homeschool Radio Shows

This website offers the FREE opportunity to listen to “classic educational programs from the days of old time radio especially for homeschoolers!” We’ve featured this website previously on ClickSchooling — but it provides a terrific service, worthy of mentioning again. :)

HomeschoolRadioShows.com offers great literature that comes alive through wholesome, historical stories that are adapted from great books and presented in weekly installments through the “Living Books for the Ears” newsletter. You sign up for the free newsletter at the website, and then a link to the current story along with a brief synopsis, is delivered to you via email each week. You can click on the link to listen to the stories online or follow their directions for downloading them to a CD so you can listen to them offline — for example, while traveling in the car on summer vacations and road trips! These fully dramatized half hour audio programs are a terrific way to introduce your kids to classic tales — and family members of all ages will enjoy listening to them.

When you get to the site, you will see a registration form. Just fill it out to get the free weekly newsletter. If you want a little more info before you sign up, scroll down the page (below the registration form) to learn more about the programs and the distributors — the Erskine family (who homeschool their own children). You can even listen to the current show to get a sample of what this program is all about. You will also find information on the other products the Erskine family offers — the sale of which helps them to continue to offer “Living Books for the Ears” for free. Enjoy!
