At today’s website you can explore the Idea Labs at the Smithsonian Institute’s Education website. The labs are actually little short films that explore some of the fascinating collections and exhibits housed at The Smithsonian. When you get to the site you will see a menu in the center of your screen that contains the Idea Labs including:

  • Smithsonian Kids — This Idea Lab offers colorful images and funny sounds that enhance a video presentation of some of the cool, scary, patriotic and beautiful things in the Museum.
  • Walking on the Moon — Through this Idea Lab you can enter a time capsule that explores the history of space exploration leading up to Apollo 11 and man’s first walk on the moon.
  • Amazing Collections — As a portal to the Kids Collections section of the website, this Idea Lab includes treasures from stamp, coin, and rock collections archived at the Museum. Get the scoop on building your own collections too.
  • Mr. President — This Idea Lab houses profiles on every U.S. President from George Washington to George W. Bush.

When you are through touring the Idea Labs, use the menu to explore many other collections and exhibits at the Smithsonian Institute. Bookmark this site, as you simply can’t see it all in just one visit. :)
