Whelmers Science Experiments

This site offers a collection of interesting and fun science experiments that are guaranteed not to overwhelm students — but rather, whelm them. They offer just enough information and hands-on activities to spark interest in science and how things work.

When you get to the site you will see a short introduction and then some menu choices. After reading the introduction and safety rules, scroll down to the list of experiments that include an air cannon, dancing penny, fire sandwich, a liquid rainbow and more. Click on any experiment and a new page appears with information about how to conduct the experiment along with a materials list, instructions, illustrations, and explanations about the science behind each activity.

There are 20 free experiments listed at the site, and you can order 41 more that have been compiled into a CD/ROM with actual video demonstrations, if you are so inclined.
