Part of the larger Discover Petroleum site from ExxonMobil, take virtual tours of an oil refinery and drilling platform in the UK.

Our first stop is the oil refinery. Select the “The Fawley tour” link. After reading through the introduction, begin the tour by either clicking the arrow at the top of the page to “start tour” or selecting the text link in the introduction box. Use your mouse to zoom around the 360° image and learn about the location and the refining process with the informational text to the left of the image. Locations visitors will see include:

  • Jetty control
  • Salt marsh
  • South trestle
  • View from the admin block roof

  • Perimeter tank

  • COGEN – COmbined heat and power GENeration

After finishing your tour, return to the homepage by selecting the “part of the Discover Petroleum site” link at the top of the page. Select “The Captain tour.” With this tour of a drilling platform located on the edge of the Moray Firth 68 miles north of Aberdeen, visitors will see:
