Discover European artifacts with this website from the Leonardo da Vinci programme.

Begin exploring the collections by selecting a museum from the scrolling images:

  • Athens
  • Rome
  • Sofia
  • Budapest
  • Bucharest
  • Wein
  • Berlin
  • Euro Innovanet

When the page opens, read through the information then select the “Go to the Virtual Museum” image link. On the next page will be a chart of pieces to examine. Click the image for more views and information about the item.

There are several ways to navigate around this website. When on an artifact page, select the “MU.S.EU.M” link in the upper menu to return to the home page or select the “Virtual Museum” link to be taken to an alternate page that allows browsing items based on what an object might be used for or represent. This page also includes a clickable map to browse by location and a clickable timeline to search by time-period. Visitors can always use the “Site Index” link on the side bar menu to find more locations on the site such as the “Special Collections” page and “Deepenings” page which provide in-depth explanations of topical pieces.

This site would make a nice addition to your European history and geography studies.
