Daria Music – Homeschoolers

Age Range: 5-13 (Grades K-8, with parental supervision)

Explore the world of music with folksinger, Daria, at this website.

Today’s link takes visitors to a page specifically addressed to homeschoolers with textural links to fun educational activities. Activities include:

  • Explore Instruments – Listen to the sounds and songs of a cajon, drum, guiro, shekere, washboard, didgerido, dulcimer, and guitar, then color the instrument online or learn how to make your own.
  • Songbook – Search through Daria’s songbook for lyrics to silly songs and foreign language songs.
  • Daria’s Travels – Learn about the places that Daria has traveled through slideshows and texts.

When you are finished with the Homeschoolers page, use the top navigation menu and select the Activities/Crafts link to find loads of DIY projects for making your own instruments using readily available materials. Visitors will also find loads of instrument coloring pages.

Use the menu below the header to choose to watch “Videos” of the performer’s songs, or select “Songs” then the “Silly Songs & Musical Jokes” link to learn some fun songs (some have audios) or read some goofy jokes.

Not only will this website be a nice addition to your music studies, but, because of its multi-cultural focus on instruments around the world, it will be beneficial to your social studies and geography studies.
