It’s pumpkin season! You can use pumpkins to demonstrate many math concepts. Here are a few ideas:


Pumpkin Math

This site offers some simple math activities for grades K-2 that use a pumpkin for practicing estimation, learning about circumference, and counting.

Testing Hypotheses About Pumpkins

This site offers a variety of free lessons using pumpkins to help students (about ages 8-14) learn about estimation and testing predictions. Do larger pumpkins have more seeds than smaller pumpkins?
