It’s Tuesday, September 15, 2015, and time for Science at ClickSchooling!

Recommended Website:

Clicktosave Online First Aid Course (http://clicktosave.com.au/)

Age Range: 10 and up (Grades 5 and up; children with parental supervision)

This website offers a free, 30-minute, online first aid course. There is a printable certificate at the end.

When you get to the site you must register (free) to take the course that teaches basic first aid skills to help people who are injured or ill. You’ll learn how to assess and manage:

  • Basic First Aid
  • Infection Control
  • CPR
  • Defibrillation
  • Wounds and Bleeding

NOTE: PARENTS, AS ALWAYS, SHOULD PREVIEW THE VIDEO. It simulates people who have been in accidents, etc., so the content may be disturbing to some children. It’s not gory, just realistic.

Additionally, we discovered that E-How offers videos on how to administer first aid at this site:

E-How: Basic First Aid: Calling 911

You’ll find video instructions on:

  • Treating Burns
  • Treating Wounds
  • Stopping Bleeding on Minor Injuries
  • How to Use A Tourniquet
  • Reviving a Drowning Victim
  • First Aid for Choking
  • First Aid for Poisonous Snake Bites

Bookmark these sites – as they can be used as a “refresher” course from time to time.
