This website instills you-can-do spirit, while teaching about the remarkable achievements of the 20th century and the people who achieved them!
When you get to the site you will see a picture of the Academy of Achievement and a brief introduction. Click on the picture and a new page opens offering the following menu items:
  • Library – This is an incredible assembly of the single most favorite book titles that inspired some of the great achievers of our times. In their own words, people like Robert Ballard (Discoverer of the Titanic), Jeff Bezos (Founder of Amazon.com), Oprah Winfrey (Entertainment Executive), Ellie Wiesel (Nobel Prize for Peace), Wynton Marsalis (Pulitzer Prize for Music), Dr. Stephen Gould (Paleontologist), and many more tell you what book was pivotal in their lives.
  • Gallery – Click on this option and a new page opens with two main sections:
    • Gallery of Achievers in the Arts, Business, Public Service, Science & Exploration, Sports, and The American Dream – Click on one of the topics and a new page opens with photos of people who have achieved a great deal in their field during the 20th century. Click on a photograph, and you can read an interview with that person – in some cases you can see videos and hear audio clips as well.
    • Steps To Success – Quotes by achievers on having passion, vision, preparation, courage, perseverance, and integrity.
  • Achievement TV – At one time television broadcasts on the lives of inspiring achievers were available to schools. Now those broadcasts have been moved to video and audio tapes that you can purchase at this website. There are FREE support materials for printout and download that include teacher’s guides, student activities and handouts, reference material, and more.
  • Curriculum Center – For educators, parents, teachers, and students in grades 4-12, this section of the site contains audio and video downloads as well as text materials on great achievers of our time that tie into curriculum materials for History, Language Arts, Science, Ethics, Business & Careers, and more. This is a remarkable collection of study materials, lessons, and activities to enhance numerous subject studies.
  • Achiever’s Club – Listen to audio addresses by members of the Academy of Achievement as they share practical insight that may inspire you to achieve excellence.
