Riddle’s Elephant & Wildlife Sanctuary

Age Range: All (children with parental supervision)

Gather the kids ’round the computer for a short visit with some African and Asian elephants at an elephant wildlife sanctuary in the Ozark Mountain foothills in Arkansas. Most of the elephants are former circus performers, and all of them have interesting characteristics that you will find endearing.
When you get to the site there is a short introduction video – wait for it, and then the site will open. You will see a menu on the left side of your screen. Click on “Elephant Biographies.” A new screen will appear that gives brief information about the elephants at the reserve. Click on “Asian Elephants” or “African Elephants” at the top of the screen and another page opens with pictures and brief biographies on each of the elephant residents at the sanctuary. When you are through meeting all of the elephants, you might want to explore the site to find out about the work and research being done at the sanctuary. You might even find a destination for your next family vacation!
