Celebrating Wildflowers Coloring Books

Age Range: All (All grades, with parental supervision)

This website encourages appreciation for the beauty of wildflowers of the Northwest and Texas Hill Country by providing information about a stunning array of wildflowers and illustrations that you can print and color. Don’t let the area-specific titles fool you – many of these flowers grow in other regions as well.

When you get to the site, you will see a short introduction and a menu below it. Click on either Northwest or Texas Hill Coloring Book. A new page opens with a new menu that offers:

  • An index of flowers by scientific name
  • An index of flowers by common name
  • A gallery of coloring pages completed and submitted by website visitors
  • Biography of the illustrator of the wildflower coloring pages
  • and other educational info about wildflowers

The simple way to access the flowers you want to color is to click on the “Common Names Index.” A new page opens with a list of common names of wildflowers. Find the one you are interested in, click on it, and a new page opens with a thumbnail picture of the flower along with a link to the printable coloring page and a color guide for that flower.

When you are through exploring the coloring pages, go back to the home page. It contains links to other botanical coloring books online, resources about wildflowers for teachers, and best of all – a directory of wildflower events taking place throughout the U.S. and Canada. Just click on “On-line Wildflower Events Directory” and a new page opens with a map of the U.S. Click on any state for a directory of wildflower tours and walks. (Note: The word Canada is above the map. Click on it to find events taking place in Canada.)
