Hi! It’s Saturday, August 4, 2012 and time for Foreign Languages at ClickSchooling!
Teaching Ideas: Foreign Languages
Age Range: 5-11 (Grades K-5 approximately)
This UK-based website offers all kinds of free ideas to help kids learn and practice foreign languages through playing real games that kids love like “Duck, Duck, Goose” and “Tic Tac Toe.” The games are probably familiar to most, they’ve just been tweaked to encourage learning a different language.
When you get to the site you’ll see a menu of games to help learn vocabulary, phrases, grammar, and more. Most of the examples are for learning French, but you can easily adapt the ideas for learning any language. Oh, and most of the ideas are for classroom use but can be tweaked for the homeschool environment.
Click on any game on the menu and a new page opens with simple instructions for how to play.
When you are through exploring the foreign language game ideas, use the menu at the top of the screen to see all of the lessons, activities, and free downloadable resources for teaching math, science, geography, history, art, music, and more!
Bookmark this site to use as a terrific resource to supplement learning at home.
