This amazing site teaches American Revolutionary history, including the French and Indian War, through free, multi-media, interactive games! Take a trip back in time to the 1700’s as America struggles for freedom from the British Empire.
The main game’s title is “For Crown or Colony” and as the site explains:

“This game puts the player in the shoes of Nat Wheeler, a 14-year-old printer’s apprentice in 1770 Boston. As Nat navigates the city and completes tasks, he encounters a spectrum of people living and working there when tensions mount before the Boston Massacre. Ultimately, the player determines Nat’s fate by deciding where his loyalties lie.”
When you get to the site you will be asked to register (it’s free) to play the games that include:
*For Crown or Colony – A six-part interactive mission takes you through the 1700’s in a choose-your-own-adventure like storyline.

*Think fast! Against the Past – Timed quiz of colonial history

*Pennywhistle Hero – Play old time tunes in a sore of “Guitar-Hero” format

*Meet the Characters – Scroll your mouse and hover over game characters to learn about them and hear their voices.
Parents, teachers, and educators will appreciate the numerous free, downloadable and printable PDFs and documents that enhance learning the history behind each section of the game.

The game comes in streaming format for those with a faster internet connection and is offered in a downloadable version too, all for free!
