ClickSchooling list member Cie recommended this website, sponsored by the National Air & Space Museum at the Smithsonian Institution, that offers online learning activities about aviation history.

When you get to the website use the menu to explore:

  • Online Exhibitions — Find out about the history of air travel from the early years through expansion and innovation. Learn about the heyday of propeller airlines and all about the jet age.
  • Activities — You’ll have fun with these hands-on, interactives that let you navigate your way along an early airmail route, dress a pilot by matching the uniform to the type of plane the pilot flies. Make a newsreel about the first around-the-world flight by scheduled airlines. See if you would have qualified to be a stewardess in the 1950s — and much more!
  • Objects & Images — Explore the artifacts and images that have impacted air travel through history.

This is a fun way to learn about history — the sky’s the limit!
