This website, sponsored by the New York City Department of Education, offers fun math activities and games for parents and kids to learn together — many provided by Family Math which is part of the EQUALS program from the University of California at Berkeley designed to help children everywhere achieve math success.

When you get to the math portion of this site you will see activities for children in grade levels 3-8. Click on a grade and a new page opens with a menu of links to math activities along with a brief description of each. Click on the ones that interest you and a new page opens with instructions on what to do. The activities rely on using simple materials you probably have at home, or observing your environment and using information you find there to play the games and solve the questions and puzzles. Many can be done while you are on the go — making it a perfect resource for travel games this summer!
